Regional Safeguarding Investigations Workshop

Strengthening the practice of effective, fair and survivor centred safeguarding investigations.

DATE: 10-13 November 2026
LOCATION: Kwetu Nairobi, Curio Collection by Hilton
FORMAT: 4-day interactive face-to-face workshop
COST: USD 1,500 per participant

About the Workshop

Safeguarding investigations can be complex, sensitive and challenging to navigate. Investigators must be able to work with incomplete or conflicting information, engage appropriately with survivors and other participants, assess evidence objectively, and reach findings that are fair, well-reasoned and defensible.

This four-day workshop provides an opportunity for investigation practitioners and operational managers to strengthen their approach to safeguarding investigations. Participants will explore how to navigate the challenges that arise throughout an investigation while maintaining professionalism, objectivity and a survivor-centred approach.

The workshop brings together investigative principles, practical tools and case studies, creating space for participants to test their approaches, reflect on common challenges and learn from experienced investigation practitioners.

Over the four days, participants will be taken through the full investigation lifecycle, combining practical guidance with the judgement, sensitivity and critical thinking required to manage safeguarding cases effectively.

Why Attend?

Safeguarding investigations can be complex. Investigators and managers may have to make important decisions about case intake, risk, evidence, confidentiality, interviews, investigative scope, findings and reporting, often in sensitive and high-pressure circumstances.

This workshop provides an opportunity to step back from individual cases and examine what good safeguarding investigations look like from beginning to end.
